Top picks for Culture Night Belfast

Culture Night is gearing up for a full day and night of free events (over 230 in fact) across Belfast City Centre.

It’s a night to get out and about and soak up the culture we have to offer in the city from opera to brass funk, and from circus to cabaret, we’ve put together some of our top events we’ll be checking out on
Friday 21st September.

MUSIC
Belfast Health Trust – Staff Choir and Orchestra
Rosemary Street Church
20.30-21.30

This event brings together the Belfast Trust staff choir and orchestra for the first time with members of the groups including nurses, midwives, surgeons and doctors.  The music will be popular and film scores with lots of potential for a sing-along.

SPORT
Belfast Knights – Live American Football
The Big Fish, Donegall Quay
18.00-21.00

Come have a look at one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland – American football! Belfast’s gnarly Knights will be putting on live drills, giving you a taste of what it's all about, and invite you to try it yourself, with their Quarterback Challenge.

ART
Ulster University Fine Art Graduates' Cancer Portraits Exhibition
Ulster University Art College
15.30-22.00

Culture Night will mark the launch of an exhibition of portraits of local blood cancer survivors, painted by recent Ulster University Fine Art Graduates, as featured in a major fundraising campaign for local research charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI.

RECORD-BREAKERS
Europa Hotel
18.00-19.30

An attempt at the world record for the largest ever tap dancing lesson! Come witness the spectacle of a genuine world record attempt on the biggest night in the city’s cultural calendar. And if you have tap shoes, maybe you can lend a hand (or a foot)!

FOOD
There will be lots of pop-up stands across the Cathedral Quarter mostly located in Writer’s Square.
We’re looking forward to ducking the crowds and heading to ‘Duck, Rocket & Roll’!
They’re offering crispy aromatic duck in a flatbread or brioche bun with sauce.  Drooling already.
