Our favourite Belfast Coffee Shops

Our favourite Belfast Coffee Shops

There’s been a massive surge in the number of coffee shops opening their doors in Belfast recently, but a good emporium isn’t just about the coffee.

We love having the right mix of atmosphere, drinks selection and snacks and cool educated baristas.

So if you want to ditch the chains, we’ve put together our fave places – whether you’re looking a place to work, somewhere to bring the kids or just a place that serves an incredible coffee.

Let us know where you hang out.

·Guilt Trip

Where? Orangefield Lane Belfast

Ulster Rugby lads Callum Black and Darren Cave opened up Guilt Trip a little over a year ago and we’ve been joining the queues of people who are turning up every day to sink their gnashers into a deliciously indulgent donut.

The baristas are super knowledgeable and friendly and there’s always a good selection of donuts that sometimes we have to order a box of them to go!

·District

Where? Stranmillis & Ormeau Roads

This little independent coffee shop has two branches in Belfast and an amazing selection of treats to go along with your flat white.

They also do a great brunch, sandwiches and salads.  It’s one of our favourite haunts just located across the road from our office in Stranmillis.

·The Pocket

Where? University Road

The clue is in the name, this is (probably) the smallest coffee shop in the city, if not the world!

Located directly opposite Queen’s University, you might strike it lucky and get one of the tables outside The Pocket to take in the amazing architecture of Queen’s main building and watch the world pass by.

·Kaffe O

Where? Botanic Avenue, Ormeau Road and opposite Belfast City Hall

A Nordic inspired coffee shop with three outlets in the city – the beans are imported from Denmark, no less.

You can find them on Botanic Avenue and Ormeau Road Kaffe O also have a little kiosk window opposite Belfast City Hall where you can grab and go.

If you do visit one of the sit-in outlets, we love perching up by the window and ordering boiled eggs and a large Americano to set us up for the day ahead.

·Root & Branch

Where? Ormeau Road & Ormeau Avenue at Ormeau Baths

Root and Branch, not only roast their own coffee but you can drink it too from one of their two outlets on Ormeau Road and at the Ormeau Baths on Ormeau Avenue.

There’s seats outside both cafes where you can bring your dog and enjoy your coffee alfresco.
